Red Cross launches writing competition for journalism students

For the first time, the Red Cross is running a trans-Tasman essay competition on international humanitarian law for journalism students. Abas, 4, injured in a mortar attack, recuperates following his operation at Peshawar hospital.You can win up to NZ $1200 in the ‘Let them through and keep them safe' competition. Fashion trade

An exciting partnership between New Zealand Red Cross and Country Road announced on 1 July is already enhancing the quality and amount of pre-loved clothing being sold in 37 Red Cross shops around New Zealand. The main initiative in the partnership is Fashion Trade - a clothing donation programme encouraging people to donate better quality used clothing to Red Cross shops. Since 1 July people have been able to donate any clothing or accessories and include at least one pre-loved Country Road item to a Red Cross shop to receive a $10 voucher to put towards their next purchase of $50 or more at any Country Road store.
