Uzbekistan Emergency Appeal

Unrest in Kyrgyzstan has forced an estimated 80 to 100,000 people over the border to Uzbekistan.  An appeal has been launched New Zealand Red Cross are accepting funds towards the appeal.  Following the influx of refugees escaping the violence, the Uzbekistan Red Crescent has helped with shelter, non-food relief, water, sanitation and emergency health care.

Chilean Earthquake Response FundThe Chilean Earthquake Response Fund will relief operation for people affected by the massive earthquake that struck Chile on 27 February. Donations will fund health services, shelter assistance, relief items as well as water and sanitation services.

Haitian Earthquake Appeal

The Haitian Earthquake Appeal will raise money to support Red Cross disaster response and relief action in Haiti. The immediate needs are search and rescue, emergency health care, clean water, emergency shelter, logistics and telecommunications but with up to three million people potentially affected, the needs will be ongoing as the situation becomes more clear.

Pacific Disaster Preparedness FundAs the Samoa Tsunami and Earthquake appeal is now closed, contributions can be donated towards the Pacific Disaster Preparedness Fund.
This fund provides immediate assistance to future regional disasters and emergencies in the Pacific.

For thousands of vulnerable people in New Zealand and overseas, the Red Cross is a sign of hope in crisis, meeting both immediate and longer term needs.
