| Haitian Earthquake Appeal | The Haitian Earthquake Appeal will raise money to support Red Cross disaster response and relief action in Haiti. The immediate needs are search and rescue, emergency health care, clean water, emergency shelter, logistics and telecommunications but with up to three million people potentially affected, the needs will be ongoing as the situation becomes more clear. In the event that more money than can reasonably and efficiently spent is raised during the appeal, any surplus funds will be used by New Zealand Red Cross to prepare and respond to other humanitarian disasters or emergencies either internationally or here in New Zealand. | |
| Pacific Disaster Preparedness Fund | As the Samoa Tsunami and Earthquake appeal is now closed, contributions can be donated towards the Pacific Disaster Preparedness Fund. This fund provides immediate assistance to future regional disasters and emergencies in the Pacific. | |
| Holiday Season Appeal | This is a direct mail campaign calling for your support to help New Zealand Red Cross meet the needs of vulnerable people over the holiday season. Your gift could help rebuild communities by providing relief assistance when crisis and disaster strikes, or give hope and sustenance to isolated people, both young and elderly. | |

| International Disaster Response | This fund is held in readiness for immediate contribution to disasters as they happen internationally. You can be assured that any donation to this fund will support the most time-critical Red Cross disaster response efforts internationally.

| Horn of Africa - food crisis | Large areas of the Horn of Africa are now facing an exceptional humanitarian crisis. Urgent food aid is vital to fight extremely high levels of acute hunger in the coming months. According to the IFRC, as many as 20 million people are now living on the margins of survival due to a complex cocktail of drought, conflict, displacement and chronic poverty. "The time to act is now" says Bekele Geleta, Secretary General of the IFRC. "We must not wait until we are confronted with images of emaciated children on our television screens".
