New Zealand Red Cross is led and governed by its members. The organisation's health and effectiveness relies on having many enthusiastic, committed members from all parts of New Zealand communities. If you become a member you will be able to:

• Play an active part in the continued growth and future development of New Zealand Red Cross
• Contribute to the humanitarian work of New Zealand Red Cross in your area, nationwide and overseas (as an individual or through a branch, group or service centre)
• Take part in the governance and leadership of the organisation - nominating, electing and/or standing for an area council, the National Board, the National Youth Panel or other leadership roles in branches and groups
• Receive the latest information and progress reports on New Zealand Red Cross programmes

How to become a member
To become a member you must sign a declaration to follow and promote the seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the New Zealand Red Cross Code of Conduct, and register your name and address as a member of New Zealand Red Cross. To do this, contact your nearest branch, service centre or call 0800 RED CROSS (0800 733 276) or print and complete this application form and mail it to Membership, New Zealand Red Cross, PO Box 12-140 Thorndon, Wellinigton 6144.
