First Aid Instructor
As one of New Zealand's largest first aid training providers, New Zealand Red Cross regularly recruits First Aid Instructors. Casual, part time and full time positions are available across the country. At present we are actively recruiting for roles in:

Event First AiderNew Zealand Red Cross maintains a pool of trained people able to provide first aid to members of the public at small and large-scale community events and sporting tournaments. The roles are casual roles. > more details on event emergency care services and applying for a role.
Voluntary Positions
Volunteers remain at the heart of New Zealand Red Cross. Without their vital support, community services, health and transport programmes, disaster support, fundraising and administration could not occur.

Overseas - Working for the ICRC or the IFRC
Any New Zealander wanting to work internationally with Red Cross is required, as a first step, to complete the Delegate Training Course. This is a seven day long residential course, we run approximately annually. Most attendees on the course each year are training to be Humanitarian Aid Workers. Overseas Aid Worker
Approximately 20 - 30 humanitarian aid workers are deployed globally from New Zealand at any point in time. A trained pool of aid workers is maintained, with annual induction training courses. You can apply to become a New Zealand Red Cross humanitarian aid worker at any time. For more details on the annual course please click here.
