New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Commission

The New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Commission has established two grants for people affected by the Christchurch earthquake: an Emergency and Hardship Grant and a Bereavement Grant.

Bereavement Grant: $10,000 for the immediate family of confirmed deceased.

  • Hard copies of application forms can be picked up and dropped off at any Red Cross Service Centre nationwide or any Ministry of Social Development office or service centre.
  • In Christchurch, copies can be picked up at any Recovery Assistance Centre 

return Grant application forms

Applications can be returned to the New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Commission in any of the following ways:

  • Email it to eqgrant@redcross.org.nz (Please note that where applications are lodged by email, the relevant supporting documentation must be scanned and attached to your email)
  • Post it to: New Zealand Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Grants, PO Box 217, Christchurch Mail Centre 8140
  • Fax it to +64 4 473 4923
  • Deliver it to one of the following locations:
    (a) A Red Cross Service Centre; OR
    (b) Any Ministry of Social Development (MSD) office or service centre
    Please keep a copy of your application for your records.
