The partnership with Cornucopia assists New Zealand Red Cross to capture thousands of loyal new regular supporters each year, which means that our charitable activities can be planned in advance, knowing that a substantial level of support is secured.
People who sign up with our street face to face fundraisers join over 17,000 regular givers signed up to our regular giving programme with New Zealand Red Cross which raised over two million dollars last year.
This money has been used to support and implement programmes in New Zealand and overseas to improve the lives of vulnerable people.
When members of the public sign up as regular givers with these street face to face fundraisers they provide personal information and bank details to allow automatic monthly donations and all this information is kept strictly confidential.
New Zealand Red Cross is a member of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) of New Zealand. The PFRA works with charities and service providers to ensure quality, integrity, and transparency in face to face fundraising by creating an atmosphere of public confidence and regulatory satisfaction.
How do I know if a fundraiser is genuine?
Street face to face fundraisers working on behalf of New Zealand Red Cross only ask for regular donations via bank direct debit or credit card and are not authorised to accept one-off cash gifts. Please be assured that setting up a donation by direct debit is entirely safe.
How to recognise a door-to-door/street/shopping centre fundraiser?
Legitimate New Zealand Red Cross street face to face fundraisers will be:
• Wearing a red t-shirt or jacket with the New Zealand Red Cross logo on both the front and back
• Displaying a Cornucopia Fundraising identification badge with their name, photo and Identification number
• Carrying up-to-date Red Cross literature.
