Designed for people who are frequently called on to provide first aid services to members of the public, as well as those, who live or work in remote locations, or work in risky occupations. Pre-requisite: valid comprehensive first aid certificate.

• provide extended first aid
• use enhanced basic life support
• provide oxygen therapy
• carry out shock advisory defibrillation
• move and position patients in preparation for transport

Pre-course reading is required, and practical assessments are conducted during the course

Time commitment: 3 classroom days plus pre-course work

If supplied with a valid NZQA ID number, New Zealand Red Cross will lodge these credits for you on successful completion of the course.

This course also meets the Department of Labours - First Aid for Workplaces - A Good Practice Guide (September 2009) and all NZQA First Aid training requirements.
