Trusts and Grants Fundraising Coordinator - Wellington

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trusts and Grants Fundraising Coordinator working in our National Office in Wellington.

Permanent - Full time

Based at Red Cross House in Wellington

In this position you will work alongside the Corporate Partnerships & Trusts Fundraising Manager to be the champion in the organisation for raising funds from charitable trusts, foundations and grant makers.

In this role some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • With support from the Corporate Partnerships & Trusts Fundraising Manager implement an annual trust and grant fundraising plan
  • Develop excellent internal relationships with colleagues, members and volunteers to support the delivery of the annual plan and grant reporting requirements
  • Conduct research that identifies donors that align with organisational priorities and highlights potential funding opportunities
  • Prepare compelling well written proposals and applications that influence funders through programme statistics and beneficiary stories
  • Development of high quality professional documents that support applications and effectively tell the story of New Zealand Red Cross programmes to external parties
  • Create opportunities for New Zealand Red Cross to establish strong long term relationships with funders
  • Insightfulness and understanding of programme statistics with consideration to outcomes and how these could be used in grant applications and accountability reporting
  • Produce excellent donor accountability reports that demonstrate social impacts made and financial breakdown of funding received
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, using the national fundraising database, electronic and paper records
  • To assist in developing and maintaining systems and processes
  • To respond to donor queries, by email and phone
  • In the event of a major emergency appeal, provide assistance/coordinate as required, including working unsociable hours if necessary. This may include communicating emergency appeals messages to all charitable trusts, foundations and grant makers and management of responses.

  • Methodical approach to work with the ability to initiate, implement and complete tasks to a high standard and with minimum supervision
  • Excellent written communications skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills
  • Strong relationship/account management skills
  • Experience of managing multiple tasks to deadline and prioritising own workload
  • Initiative and flexibility with open mindedness
  • Empathy with humanitarian causes
