Volunteer Programme Coordinator and Operational lead - Auckland

We have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Programme Coordinator and Operational lead to join the team at the Auckland Service Centre.

Location based in Auckland

Full time Permanent role (37.5 hours per week)

The Open Road Operational Lead coordinates the national operational activities of the Red Cross Open Road programme across four regions in New Zealand and manages the Auckland South region Open Road programme.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all contractual targets are met, monitored and reported on
  • Programme is run within the established policies and processes
  • Internally is the key operational point of contact for the Open Road Coordinators and provides technical advice and guidance to Coordinators as required
  • Operational projects for programme
  • Monitoring and implementation of Health and Safety to deliver program safely
  • Externally operational point of contact with the external contract manager and ensures this important funding relationship is maintained effectively.
  • Managing and delivering the Open Road Regional Driver training programme in Auckland including; Volunteer Supervision, Volunteer Recruitment and Assistance with Training
  • Partnership, Networking and Public Awareness.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set goals, manage time and be responsible for own learning
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience and understanding of driver licensing programmes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of refugee resettlement in NZ, or other relevant cross cultural experience
  • Experience in recruitment and/or event organisation and/or scheduling bookings in situations that occasionally requires robust decision making.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and training sessions
  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage high workloads in sometimes challenging situations and meet deadlines
  • High level of analytical skills with excellent judgement and an ability to make quality decisions

Hours of work: May require occasional evening and weekend availability, for activities such as: Induction, logistics and vehicle coordination.
