We want New Zealand Red Cross to be a great place to be part of. Supporting our people’s wellbeing is essential to ensure we can carry out our mission – to improve the lives of vulnerable people.

To better understand the wellbeing of our members, including volunteers, we’ve sent out a short, secure, and confidential online wellbeing survey.

The survey is open from Monday 18 September to Friday 13 October 2023.

The survey should only take five minutes to complete. If you can’t do the survey online, please contact Dr Jeremy Robertson from Umbrella: jeremy@umbrella.org.nz

Umbrella privacy statement

For your information – data protection and privacy.

  1. New Zealand Red Cross has asked Umbrella to independently survey the wellbeing of their members, including those who volunteer their time. The survey findings will be used to design initiatives to support the wellbeing of its members.
  2. The wellbeing survey is voluntary.
  3. We will not tell anyone who has completed the survey.
  4. We keep all individual responses confidential to Umbrella. Individual responses will not be supplied to New Zealand Red Cross or anyone else.
  5. Only aggregated responses will be provided to New Zealand Red Cross, and these will not enable any individual to be identified.
  6. We keep your information safe by storing it in encrypted files and only allowing certain Umbrella staff to access it.
  7. We keep your account active for 12 months so you can go back and access the Wellbeing Knowledge Base. We keep a copy of anonymised data — no names or identifying information — so we can prepare our reports.
  8. You have the right to ask for a copy of any survey information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong – such as you misunderstood a question.

If you want a copy of your information, or have it corrected, contact Dr Jeremy Robertson: jeremy@umbrella.org.nz

What happens with the results

Umbrella will write a report of the survey outcomes for the National Board and Executive Leadership Team. We will work with membership groups to discuss their results and next steps to support wellbeing around their Red Cross activities.
