Our Meals on Wheels service supports elderly, ill and disabled people living at home who would otherwise struggle to provide healthy meals for themselves. We need volunteers keen to deliver hot meals, and stop in for a friendly chat, to people in need in communities across New Zealand.
New Zealand Red Cross requires its people – employees, members and those that volunteer their time – to be fully vaccinated. If you are interested in volunteering for New Zealand Red Cross you will need to provide your ‘My vaccine Pass’ when required. This is important as we place our people at the heart of everything we do, ensuring we take steps to prioritise health, safety and well-being.
Schedule
Volunteers needed on weekdays around lunchtime. Shift start times vary from 10.30am to 12 noon depending on location and route Delivery routes typically last between 1-3 hours Volunteer shift duration varies by location and route. Shift duration may vary daily depending on the number of meals and traffic Most of our volunteers deliver meals once every 2–4 weeks
