The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has mounted an emergency response operation following the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on 25 April. Authorities so far report more than 5,000 people have died, 11,000 have been injured, 1 million families displaced and more than 8 million affected in Nepal. Read more
