There are opportunities for you to volunteer with Visitor Care Manaaki Manuhiri. We encourage New Zealand Red Cross members, volunteers, groups and branches to help assist people on temporary visas in their time of need.

This project is still developing, which means we’re still working to understand how much need there is across the country. In some areas the need for this assistance may be less, meaning we don’t need many volunteers. In other areas there may be significant demand, which means there would be opportunities for more volunteers to help. The workload could also change, so keep checking here for the latest roles.

Outreach volunteers

Navigator volunteers

Navigator volunteers work at our Visitor Care Manaaki Manuhiri hubs. They welcome people, guide people who may be eligible to the online application process at and provide psychosocial support to those who might appreciate some extra care and time. Find out more about the role here.

Voucher distribution volunteers
