On Friday 8 September, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake shook central Morocco – over 2,000 people lost their lives, thousands have been injured, and many others have been displaced. By donating to the Morocco Earthquake Appeal today, you are helping the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement deliver emergency relief to those in need and support them to recover.

It is estimated that around 6.6 million people have been impacted by this disaster – many of whom will have lost loved ones, their homes, and their livelihoods. Some of the worst affected areas in Morocco are in the Atlas Mountains and difficult to reach.

Moroccan Red Crescent Society teams were on the ground immediately after the earthquake struck and are continuing to work tirelessly to provide urgent assistance to those in the greatest need.

They’ve been administering first aid and psychosocial support. They’ve been supporting search and rescue operations, evacuating people from damaged buildings and helping transport the injured to hospitals.

By donating to the Morocco Earthquake Appeal, you are helping the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement reach over half a million people most in need with vital emergency relief.
