Thank you for your kind donation – it is enabling former refugees who have experienced immeasurable challenges to feel welcome and empowered to rebuild their lives in New Zealand, as well as helping us be prepared to help people where the need is greatest.

As part of the largest humanitarian network in the world, we hope that you are proud to assist in the delivery of all the vital work that we do to protect vulnerable people affected by crisis and disasters at home in New Zealand, in the Pacific and around the world.

Thank you!

Whether in conflict, crisis or disaster, you can help deliver life-changing support to help people where the need is greatest – here in New Zealand and around the world.

Help Rebuild Lives From Scratch

By walking alongside former refugees from the moment they arrive at their new town, New Zealand Red Cross is helping to lift an immense burden from their shoulders.

Unlike other migrants, refugees have no choice in leaving their homes and little control over where they end up living.

Many have been forced to flee their homeland because of their ethnicity, religion or beliefs. Others have experienced war, persecution, discrimination, racism and oppression.

Through our Pathways to Settlement programme, Red Cross teams, including qualified staff and 676 volunteers, welcomed over 800 former refugees into eight regions across Aotearoa New Zealand last year.

This includes people like Harit and Farha* – newlyweds who fled death threats in Kashmir and found themselves displaced for nearly eight years before finally being accepted into New Zealand.

Your support today can help former refugee families like Harit and Farha’s start from scratch, putting behind them those fearful nights when they lived in terror in Kashmir.

Whether it’s providing relief to communities affected by disasters, delivering meals to vulnerable people or supporting former refugees in New Zealand to find the welcome, safety and joy they so desperately seek, your donation today will reach where the need is greatest.

Finally, don’t forget that when you make a donation of over $5.00, you could claim 33.33% of it back from IRD!
