Regardless of the disaster or the country affected, the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is always there. We show up. We are there when we are needed – supporting communities in the heat of the emergency, and as they recover, long after the news headlines fade and the cameras have gone.
Today, you have helped to make sure that those affected by a disaster or crisis will receive urgent, lifesaving relief immediately, as well as continue to support recovery efforts for as long as it’s needed.
THANK YOU!
Right now, there are people in desperate need of life-saving humanitarian assistance – shelter, food and medical aid. In times of disaster and crisis, with your help, there can still be hope for humanity.
By donating to the Global Disaster Fund today, you will ensure that, through the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, we can deliver immediate and long-term humanitarian relief to communities in urgent need. Please donate. Your support is needed now more than ever.
On 31 August, a powerful earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan. Thousands of people were injured, and sadly, more than 2,000 people lost their lives. The humanitarian toll of this disaster adds to decades of conflict already endured by the people of Afghanistan. Families are in desperate need of support. Red Cross Red Crescent teams on the ground are working to deliver life-saving medical treatment, shelter, water, food and more, and your support will ensure that they can reach those who need it most.
This year, we’ve also seen severe weather events leave regions underwater and communities displaced, leaving thousands of families homeless and without access to necessities. Local Red Cross Red Crescent teams have mobilised to deliver clean water, food, emergency shelter and medical care in the hardest-hit areas. You can help make sure that this vital assistance continues to reach those who need it.
And we’ve continued to be there for the people impacted by the escalation of conflict in Gaza. Red Cross Red Crescent teams are working on the ground to provide urgently needed shelter, food and psychological support. A Red Cross field hospital continues to address the overwhelming medical needs resulting from the crisis. Red Cross Red Crescent teams are constantly working for the protection of civilians. Your support can help continue these life-saving efforts.
Red Cross is the world’s largest humanitarian network. Our 191 national societies work together to provide relief wherever it’s needed most. We are often first on the ground when a disaster strikes, providing critical assistance and a shoulder to lean on during some of the worst times in people’s lives. And we remain by the side of affected communities, long after others have left, to help them recover and rebuild their lives.
Donations to our Global Disaster Fund will ensure Red Cross Red Crescent teams can provide relief where it is needed most, today and in the future. Donate now.
Please note that donations to this fund will be distributed at the discretion of New Zealand Red Cross to assist in meeting the urgent needs of those most vulnerable around the globe, including through the deployment of international delegates and in supporting global Red Cross Movement operations.
