Book shop sales coordinator
Role description
In this role, you will take responsibility for sales management in one of our Red Cross Book Shops. This includes ensuring that the shop runs smoothly, all sales processes are followed, and that there is sufficient resourcing for shop sales. This role will ensure that all volunteers are kept informed of activities and procedures, and will work closely with our book shop team.
Your tasks
- Management of in-store book shop sales (EFTPOS, opening and closing registers),
- Overseeing online sales (TradeMe, Fishpond),
- Supporting a team of volunteers.
Volunteer requirements and training
This role requires someone who:
- has good communication and problem-solving skills
- enjoys working with a group of dedicated volunteers; and
- loves books.
Guidance, training and support will be provided by our Red Cross team.

- Make sure your actions (or lack of actions) don’t harm your health, safety and wellbeing, or harm anyone else,
- Take part in a HSW induction, training, programmes and activities,
- Follow all instructions given to you about health, safety and wellbeing,
- Follow all NZRC HSW policies, standards and procedures about health, safety and wellbeing,
- Make sure you have the right training for any activities you are doing,
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) for any work activities that may need it to stay safe,
- If you spot a hazard, or you are involved in an incident or near miss, report this straight away.
