Before getting started

As part of the application process, you'll need:

  • The details of an emergency contact person.
  • The details for two people that we can phone to undertake a character reference check.
    Your referees should not:
    • be related to you or part of your extended family
    • be your partner or spouse
    • live at the same address as you.
  • If you are aged 16 or 17, you will also need the details of a parent/guardian.

Do you currently have, or have you in the last five years, suffered from any medical, physical or mental conditions that could affect your ability to carry out Red Cross duties?

Behavioural history

Have you been found guilty of a criminal offence in the last seven years, or are you currently awaiting proceedings for any criminal offences?

Driving history

Have you been found guilty of a driving offence within the last seven years, or are you currently awaiting processing for any driving related offences?

Consent

I agree to be enrolled as a member of the New Zealand Red Cross for the duration of my voluntary service.

I understand and agree to adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality. 

I agree to follow the New Zealand Red Cross Constitution and Regulations, comply with our Code of Conduct, and follow our policy on using Red Cross emblems.
