In Jamaica, Haiti and across the Caribbean region, Hurricane Melissa has caused significant and life-threatening destruction. Torrential rainfall, flooding and landslides have forced thousands of families to leave their homes and seek emergency shelter. Lives have been lost, the impact is devastating, and the true extent of the disaster won’t be fully known for days or weeks to come.
