Woolworths New Zealand has launched a fundraising initiative in response to the severe weather events in February 2026 that have affected communities across Aotearoa New Zealand. Funds raised will support New Zealand Red Cross in helping communities affected by emergencies and contributing to future domestic disaster responses.

Update 15: A year after Cyclone Gabrielle and other severe weather events in early 2023 we’ve committed the entire New Zealand Disaster Fund to helping people and communities affected.

Phil Parker’s been helping out on the East Coast since Cyclone Gabrielle struck a cruel blow to the region six months ago. We take a close look at his response work and what he’s experienced.

We’re hosting Youth Psychological First Aid courses in Ngāmotu | New Plymouth and Tauranga to provide rangatahi with the knowledge and skills to support others in times of crisis.
