About our fundraising for regular donors

New Zealand Red Cross partners with specialist face-to-face and tele-fundraising agencies who help us welcome new regular donors and maintain meaningful connections with our existing supporters. These teams play a vital role in growing and supporting our community of committed Humanitarian Partners. The generosity of those Humanitarian Partners ensures people receive care, comfort, and hope in every hour of need.

Face-to-face fundraisers

Our face-to-face fundraising representatives meet people in various places, including on the street, malls, supermarkets, and on doorsteps. They talk to people about our programmes and how regular giving makes a significant difference. This type of fundraising is one of the most affordable and cost-effective ways of raising funds to assist people in their hour of need.

While they may approach donors on their own, they always work in pairs or small teams, with a colleague nearby. They follow clear professional standards and guidelines to ensure a respectful experience for everyone they meet. Fundraisers only make unsolicited approaches to residential or business properties between 9.00am and 8.30pm during summer daylight saving hours, and between 9.00am and 7.00pm during winter. These hours help ensure their interactions are considerate and safe for both the public and our teams.
