Stuart joined New Zealand Red Cross in 2026 as a Disaster Welfare and Support Team volunteer, motivated by a desire to serve his community.

A lawyer based in West Auckland, he brings expertise in trusts, commercial law, governance, and charitable organisations.

Stuart also volunteers in community and church organisations, offering strong governance, compliance, and strategic thinking skills in support of the Red Cross mission. 

Shirin is a long-standing Red Cross member on Waiheke Island and currently serves as chair of the Northern Area Council.

She is actively involved in community resilience, refugee education, and local Red Cross initiatives, including community events and preparedness activities.

A former Waiheke Local Board member, educator, facilitator, and playwright, Shirin brings extensive governance experience from local board and environmental leadership roles, alongside strong communication and community engagement skills, and is committed to strengthening community outcomes through Red Cross

Jill brings a lifetime of commitment to the Red Cross Movement, with experience spanning branch leadership, governance, national and international roles, and humanitarian consultancy.

A former nurse, she has extensive experience supporting governance, operations, and organisational development across New Zealand and the Pacific.

Jill is passionate about community resilience, health and wellbeing, international affairs, and international humanitarian law, and is committed to helping New Zealand Red Cross achieve its mission and Strategy 2030 through strong, sustainable leadership.

Jocelyn joined New Zealand Red Cross in 2026 as a Meals on Wheels volunteer, delivering meals in West Auckland and supporting community wellbeing.

With more than 20 years’ corporate experience in quality‑focused and audit‑driven environments, she brings strong organisational, process, and governance awareness.

Jocelyn is also a regular plasma donor and is committed to service, community connection, and supporting the humanitarian mission of Red Cross.

Sara is a dedicated advocate with a profound commitment to humanitarian work shaped by personal experiences as a former refugee receiving vital support from the New Zealand Red Cross.

With a background spanning volunteer retail, refugee settlement, translation, youth mentoring, and community outreach, she brings strong governance, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.

Holding a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business from the University of Waikato, and currently serving at the Waikato Students' Union.

Sara is motivated to amplify diverse voices, strengthen volunteer engagement, and foster inclusive communities to advance the Red Cross's humanitarian mission. 

Rick has been involved with New Zealand Red Cross since 2007, starting as a youth member in Christchurch and volunteering in event First Aid.

He currently serves as Tauranga Branch president and a national councillor.

With extensive experience across emergency response, volunteer leadership, and governance, alongside a professional background in human resources and education,

Rick is passionate about supporting volunteers, strengthening communities, and advancing the humanitarian mission of Red Cross.

Glynis is an active Disaster Welfare Support Team volunteer since 2020 and was recently elected as a Midland Area councillor.

Through her contributions to emergency response and fundraising activities, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting communities in times of need.

As a restorative therapy practitioner, Glynis brings a compassionate, people-centred approach, along with valuable leadership and crisis response skills.

She is passionate about promoting community wellbeing and serving others with care, dignity, and compassion.

Brydon joined New Zealand Red Cross in 2023 as a youth member and attended the National Youth Hui, which inspired his continued involvement.

Since then, he has served as an area councillor, a national councillor, and currently as deputy chair of the Midland Area Council.

Brydon brings strong governance, financial management, project delivery, and strategic planning skills, and is passionate about advocating for young members, supporting volunteers, and ensuring local voices are heard in Red Cross decision‑making.

Nick Webb has been a dedicated member of New Zealand Red Cross since 2016 and serves as a team lead of the Tauranga Disaster Welfare and Support team. 

He has also served as a Midland Area councillor. 

He brings extensive experience in emergency response, governance, and community resilience, supported by a lifelong background in paramedicine, volunteer firefighting, and community service.

Nick is committed to strengthening communities, supporting volunteers, and advancing the humanitarian mission of Red Cross. 

Arnold is a long-standing New Zealand Red Cross member, and who previously served as treasurer for the East-West Area Council. 

He previously served as an Upper South Area councillor and is now based in Manawatū Whanganui. 

 Arnold brings extensive governance and board experience, strong business and leadership capability, and a passion for empowering volunteers, strengthening branch engagement, and supporting effective, community‑led Red Cross impact.  

Andrew is a long-serving New Zealand Red Cross member with more than 21 years of service, including 13 international humanitarian deployments across nine countries. 

A recipient of the Florence Nightingale Medal, he serves as an East-West Area councillor and a National Council member, bringing extensive operational, governance, and health-sector experience.

He is committed to supporting members, volunteers, and leadership while helping strengthen the humanitarian impact and future direction of New Zealand Red Cross. 

Felicity is a PhD researcher and social policy consultant with a passion for community wellbeing, youth development and social work.

She has been involved with New Zealand Red Cross in a range of roles and is committed to supporting volunteers, strengthening communities, and advancing the organisation's humanitarian mission. 

Felicity serves as a deputy chair of the East West Area Council.

Ali Muhammad has been a New Zealand Red Cross volunteer for several years, supporting individuals and whānau to settle into their communities as a Refugee Support Volunteer. 

He serves as deputy chair of the East West Area Council, contributing to governance and strategic decision‑making.

Professionally, Ali works in employment and community development and is passionate about strengthening communities through collaboration, inclusion, and service.

 He is committed to the fundamental principles of Red Cross and to supporting effective, people‑centred governance.  

Dung joined the New Zealand Red Cross Disaster Welfare and Support Team in Hastings in 2025, inspired by a long‑standing commitment to helping others.

Originally from Vietnam, she brings experience supporting charitable and community initiatives, including educational and family support programmes.

A qualified early childhood teacher, Dung has completed the Good and Ready programme and North Island Deployment Course, and brings strong communication, financial management, and community engagement skills to support the Red Cross mission.

Clare joined New Zealand Red Cross as a Refugee Support volunteer in 2024 and serves as the Wellington Branch President.

Recently retired from a public service career in New Zealand and overseas, she brings extensive governance, leadership, and financial oversight experience.

 Clare is a strong advocate for Red Cross values, volunteering, and collaborative leadership that strengthens communities. 

John has been part of New Zealand Red Cross for more than a decade. 

He began as a Refugee Support volunteer and later supported local Red Cross groups in Greytown, Masterton, and Martinborough through initiatives such as Meals on Wheels, hospital visitation, and fundraising.

He is the Central Area Council chair.

John brings experience in the governance of various charities and is deeply committed to the Red Cross principles of humanity and impartiality, reflected in both local community work and global humanitarian responses. 

Andrea has been volunteering for the New Zealand Red Cross Refugee Programme for more than a year, supporting vulnerable communities and gaining valuable frontline insights into settlement and inclusion.

With an extensive background in health management and leadership across Australia and New Zealand, she brings significant governance experience through service on statutory and not-for-profit boards, including Mary Potter Hospice and Te Hopai Home and Hospital Trust.

Andrea combines strong governance expertise with a commitment to empathy, diversity, and community wellbeing, supporting the Red Cross mission through strategic and values-driven leadership. 

Viktoriya joined New Zealand Red Cross as a Refugee Support volunteer in 2025 and is now supporting her second refugee family placement. 

A law, international relations, and economics student at Victoria University of Wellington, she is also active in youth leadership and human rights advocacy.

Viktoriya brings strong governance awareness, decision‑making experience, and a passion for supporting refugee communities and strengthening youth engagement within Red Cross. 

Aditi Tiwari is an area councillor for the Central Area Council. She is actively engaged across Porirua, Wellington, and Kāpiti through youth and community initiatives.

She works in youth development, co‑leads a youth‑led organisation, and brings strong governance, partnership, and engagement experience.

Aditi is committed to inclusive participation, strengthening volunteer networks, and values‑driven leadership aligned with Te Tiriti and Red Cross principles

Nathan Hume is a long-standing Red Cross volunteer with more than 16 years of experience across roles including youth representative, councillor, training officer, and Disaster Welfare and Support team leader.

He brings broad experience in deployments, training, and cross-regional collaboration.

Nathan is motivated to uphold the fundamental principles, strengthen governance, and continue building the strong leadership that guides the work of New Zealand Red Cross. 

Janet Jamieson has been a New Zealand Red Cross volunteer for more than five years, serving as a Meals on Wheels driver and, more recently, as an Upper South Area councillor.

She brings extensive experience in emergency care, training, and governance as a former volunteer ambulance officer, first aid instructor, and past chair of the Association of Emergency Care Training Providers.

Janet offers strong leadership, community service, and emergency management expertise in support of the Red Cross mission.

Katie joined New Zealand Red Cross six years ago and has volunteered as a Marlborough Branch member, Disaster Welfare and Support team volunteer and deputy team leader, and an Upper South Area councillor in service of the Red Cross mission.

A business owner and active community volunteer, she brings strong leadership, empathy, and lived experience supporting diverse communities, including neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ people. 

Angela has been a New Zealand Red Cross Disaster Welfare and Support team volunteer for six years and serves as deputy team leader for the West Coast.

With a professional background in government administration, health and safety, and emergency preparedness, she brings strong governance, financial, and community engagement experience.

Angela is passionate about supporting vulnerable people and strengthening resilient, connected communities through collaboration with volunteers, community groups, and partner agencies. 

Kaia is the youth area councillor for the Upper South Area and a Disaster Welfare and Support team volunteer.

She brings a strong background in youth advocacy and leadership, energy, communication skills, and a commitment to amplifying youth voices, supporting preparedness, and strengthening community connection through humanitarian action.

Lavina has been a dedicated New Zealand Red Cross member for more than 30 years.

She is a national councillor and a Canterbury Area councillor. A long‑standing Disaster Welfare and Support team volunteer, she brings extensive operational experience and a strong commitment to humanitarian service.

Professionally, Lavina works as a teacher aide and has volunteered with New Zealand Police for 27 years, supporting community safety and wellbeing. She brings a practical, community‑focused perspective and a passion for helping others.

Brendon joined New Zealand Red Cross in 2009 after completing a first aid course and has remained actively involved ever since.

A long‑serving Disaster Welfare and Support team volunteer, he has held deputy team leader and team administrator roles and supported responses including the Christchurch earthquakes, Nelson fires, and Cyclone Gabrielle.

Brendon brings extensive operational and volunteer leadership experience, a passion for developing volunteers, and a strong commitment to supporting communities in times of need.

Casey has been actively involved with New Zealand Red Cross for 15 years across Southland and Canterbury, bringing extensive volunteer, governance, and community leadership experience.

He is a national councillor and serves as co-chair and youth  councillor for the Canterbury Area Council, supporting volunteer‑led initiatives and local governance.

Employed in local government, Casey brings strong governance, collaboration, and community engagement expertise, along with a deep commitment to humanitarian service and strengthening communities

Tasha has been a volunteer with New Zealand Red Cross’s Disaster Welfare and Support team for the past three years, actively participating in training, community events, and emergency preparedness activities.

Working in health, safety, and environment, she brings experience in policy development, audits, and governance processes.

Tasha is passionate about volunteer service, community resilience, and supporting the humanitarian values of Red Cross. 

Astin has been a New Zealand Red Cross volunteer for five years and serves as team leader of the Christchurch Disaster Welfare and Support team.

He has contributed across a wide range of Red Cross activities, including training, youth initiatives, community engagement, and governance.

Working as a cognitive behavioural therapist with the Department of Corrections, Astin brings strong leadership, collaboration, and emergency response experience, alongside a commitment to humanitarian values, te ao Māori, and strengthening connections across Red Cross and the communities it serves

Ashik brings more than 20 years of Red Cross volunteering experience, beginning with the Nepal Red Cross Society in 2004, where he supported blood donation, blood banking, and disaster response initiatives.

Since moving to New Zealand, he has served with the Dunedin Disaster Welfare and Support team and Refugee Support, strengthening emergency preparedness, community resilience, and refugee settlement outcomes.

A research fellow in neuroscience at the University of Otago and an active leader within the Nepalese community, Ashik combines humanitarian service, governance experience, and research expertise with a strong commitment to inclusion and supporting diverse communities

Jayne first joined New Zealand Red Cross in 2007 as a first aid instructor, later served as Southland training coordinator, and became an Invercargill Disaster Welfare and Support team volunteer in 2008. 

She has held a range of volunteer, governance, and leadership roles across Red Cross and volunteers as a Meals on Wheels driver.

Working in emergency management and as a charitable trust trustee, Jayne brings extensive governance, community resilience, and emergency management experience in support of the Red Cross mission

Jane is a New Zealand Red Cross member and volunteer at the Dunedin Red Cross Shop.

She brings senior leadership experience from the education sector, with strong skills in strategy and operations.

Jane is committed to supporting volunteers, strengthening local impact, and contributing thoughtful, equity‑focused governance to Red Cross. 

Lynette is the Dunedin Branch President and an experienced New Zealand Red Cross volunteer, with involvement across Disaster Welfare and Support teams, Refugee Support, Area Council, first aid events, and local and national disaster responses.

Professionally, she works as a nurse and patient safety coordinator with Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora.

Lynette brings extensive governance, leadership, and operational experience, along with a strong understanding of Red Cross activities, committee governance, and financial oversight.

She is committed to supporting volunteers and strengthening humanitarian outcomes for communities across Aotearoa

Mallory first joined New Zealand Red Cross as a member of the Invercargill Disaster Welfare and Support team, including deployment during the 2020 Southland floods.

Since joining the Southern Area Council in 2024, she has served as both co-chair and youth councillor.

Working in the emergency management sector, Mallory brings strong governance and leadership experience and is passionate about community engagement, youth representation, and strengthening connections across Red Cross.
