Volunteering Eligibility

To volunteer with New Zealand Red Cross, you must:

  • Be currently based in New Zealand
  • Remain in New Zealand for the duration of your volunteering role
  • Have the legal right to volunteer in New Zealand

Role description

We are seeking female sopranos and contraltos to join our choir in Dunedin. We rehearse weekly in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a musical community, contributing to performances at a range of community events throughout the year. 

Funds raised by the choir support the work for New Zealand Red Cross.

Your tasks

​​Weekly rehearsal at New Zealand Red Cross Service Centre, 31 York Place, Dunedin. Availability for 1–2 sing-outs per month​.

This choir is based in Dunedin.

Volunteer requirements and training

​​We are looking for female singers to join our soprano and contralto sections.​ 

Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW)

  • Proactively ensure your actions or omissions do not adversely affect the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) of yourself or others.
  • Participate in HSW induction, training, programmes and activities.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions to comply with HSW legislation and regulations.
  • Follow New Zealand Red Cross HSW policies, standards and procedures.
  • Do not undertake any activities you are not adequately trained for.
  • Use designated personal protective equipment (PPE) for specific work activities.
  • Report hazards/risks, incidents and near misses as soon as possible after the event.
