For young people from refugee backgrounds arriving in New Zealand, there's a lot to get used to. Uzma is one of our specialised settlement youth workers who helps former refugee rangatahi connect socially and thrive in their new environment.

Just one day after turning 18, Grace Gunn did her first shift as a Meals on Wheels delivery driver. By eagerly stepping into the role as soon as she was eligible, she’s become one of our youngest Meals on Wheels volunteers.

Since 1915, thousands of people have mobilised for New Zealand Red Cross to harness collective energy into humanitarian action. Over our 110 years, we’ve seen children and young people join us to do good, give back, and contribute to building a future based on humanitarian principles.
