Since 1960, we’ve sent team members overseas on more than 1,000 assignments to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity on the front line.

This year marks 50 years since the end of international armed conflict in Viet Nam. Between 1968 and 1975, we sent more than 30 team members to help people affected by the conflict. This Vietnam Veterans’ Day, we’re taking the time to remember our people who dedicated their time to upholding human dignity and protecting humanity in Viet Nam.

Since 1915, thousands of people have mobilised for New Zealand Red Cross to harness collective energy into humanitarian action. Over our 110 years, we’ve seen children and young people join us to do good, give back, and contribute to building a future based on humanitarian principles.

For over a century, we’ve been a cornerstone of care and compassion, supporting communities through crises, emergencies, and moments of need. One of the ways we’ve done this is through our Red Cross Shops, which have been part of our income generation and volunteering opportunities since our inception.

Since 1915, we’ve played a vital role in both local communities and international humanitarian efforts. An area where our local and international work connects is tracing missing people, a service we’ve provided since the First World War and continue today with Restoring Family Links.
