"I am gravely concerned for the safety of communities in Ukraine. Our message to the parties to the conflict is clear: uphold International Humanitarian Law, protect civilians and essential services". Peter Maurer, President, ICRC.
The events in Ukraine are deeply concerning. After enduring eight years of conflict, civilians caught up in the crisis are now faced with even more fear, loss, and devastation.
People are losing their homes and their lives. Many are seeking refuge in basements and underground railway stations, or fleeing to neighbouring countries.
We are committed to continuing to be there for those caught up in the devastating crisis.
Please donate today if you can. 100% of the funds donated will be used to help the people of
Ukraine, with much of the funding directed to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), who are on the ground in Ukraine and neighbouring countries providing support to the many people in need.
With your help, Red Cross teams will continue to respond to the humanitarian needs of those affected.
The situation is unpredictable, and we don't know how it will evolve and what exactly will be needed in the coming hours, days, or weeks.
But we do know, as the situation escalates, that humanitarian support and recovery needs are massive and will continue to grow, and Red Cross is responding.
Your donation will help Red Cross teams in Ukraine:
- Protect and support the civilian population, including psychosocial support
- Distribute immediate relief such as food, water, bedding, and other essential items to civilians, including those on the move
- Provide life-saving first aid to the wounded and sick
- Re-establish family links for people who have been separated from family and loved ones, including vulnerable people such as children or the elderly.
You can make a difference for people caught up in the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Please donate today.
Also, don't forget that when you make a donation of over $5.00, you can claim 33% of it back from IRD.
