How your donation helps
Disasters, both natural and man-made, can happen at any time, anywhere in the world. People who never expected it can find themselves in urgent need of shelter, drinking water or medical aid. You can make sure that New Zealand Red Cross is always there to help when disaster strikes, bringing emergency supplies, medical care and relief to stricken families and communities.
New Zealand Red Cross helps vulnerable people, around the world and across the street. We help people through:
- refugee settlement - giving a warm welcome to former refugees, helping them feel part of their new community in Aotearoa
- disaster readiness, response and recovery - our volunteers train regularly to respond to disasters and community tragedies as soon as they happen; not only do our teams respond immediately but also provide support through the long-term recovery stage
- international aid - our international delegates are highly respected for the help and support they provide in situations of conflict and disaster
- community programmes - wherever you are, we're there too, in plain sight or behind the scenes, supporting vulnerable people in your community
Your donation goes to 'where the need is greatest' - helping the people who need it most.
