Young humanitarians facilitator
Role description
Volunteer to be a Young Humanitarians Facilitator and help support rangatahi (young people) to take humanitarian action in their communities. Young Humanitarians | Karawhiua! creates spaces for young people to voice their concerns for humanitarian issues like climate change, nuclear war and inclusion, and be part of the solutions.
Facilitators help foster meaningful conversations between young people and activities that make a meaningful difference, from streamside planting to packing welcome packs for former refugees. Facilitators may be required to supervise young people under 18. You will report to our Area Support Team, who will guide you through your volunteering journey.
Your tasks

Volunteer requirements and training
We need friendly people who care about the role of rangatahi in humanitarian action, take initiative and have good communication skills. Experience in facilitation or education are always bonuses! Volunteering as a Young Humanitarians Facilitator is a great way to support young people in improving the lives of those around them. Shift timing is dependent on programme format and location, as workshops are scheduled with local partners.

"I really enjoyed learning about the anti-nuclear movement when I was preparing for this. The fun and laughter we shared during the session are also beautiful memories that I treasure."
